Is it normal for a female to have a prominent pubic bone?

As long as I can remember I've always had a protruding pubic bone. I thought it was normal, or possibly just fat, until I went through puberty, had a growth spurt, and lost a lot of weight. I would be in ballet class and notice none of the other girls had it. It's so embarrassing because I feel like it looks like I have a package, when I don't. I'm really self-conscious about it and got really nervous when my boyfriend put his hand down there. I just want to know if there are other girls out there who have the same problem who have found ways to hide it.

Same here! Guys don't notice it at all! But cause we're so self- concious about it we freak out' but don't stress too much and just try not to accent it so much when wearing tight jeans , kinda annoying but if that's the worse thing in ur life then u got it pretty good! Own ur womanhood and embrace ur flaws!!! It's nothing to stress about!!!!' live a happy and healthy life!!!! Cheers!!!!

To be honest, I feel like I have it too.

  • Dont try to hide it, it just makes you different that all. Some people like differnt, the only bad side is that it can cause un-natural birth and un comfortable sex.

Can I just say for any other girls reading this who might also have a prominent pelvis and feel worried, it doesn't cause unnatural birth nor uncomfortable sex.

I know a woman with a prominent pubic bone and though it may not be normal, it has never caused a problem. I am sorry you feel self conscious. Maybe she does too...

I'm going to quote Richard Feynman here, from the book 'Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!':

"Then she had another worry: she's got "dents" near her groin. I had to get out a book of anatomy to show her that it's the attachment of the muscles to the ilium, and to explain to her that you can't see these dents on everybody; to see them, everything must be just right, in perfect proportion, like she was. I learned from her that every woman is worried about her looks, no matter how beautiful she is."

Of course, the quote is taken out of context, but I couldn't put it better than Feynman. So there you have it, you're perfectly normal. You even have a better shape than other girls.

Yes! Oh my goodness. It feels so good to know I'm not alone! I used to think it was normal. I was a size 12, so I figured it was just extra fat. Now that I am a size 4, it's still prominent. I never thought much about it till I started to become self conscious. I seemed to be the only one. And let me tell you, wearing a bathing suit is the worst. My boyfriend loves it and finds it really attractive, meanwhile I'm struggling to find leggings I can wear. I've always felt so insecure about it. I never knew what it was called. I thought something was wrong, but I guess it's normal.

I have had it since I was a baby but I started noticing it in 7th grade (12 years old) everyone has it flat but I didn't. I couldn't wear leggings and crop tops cause it always popped out. I hate it so much. I think I cried about 2 days because of it. My mom had always told me that it doesn't matter but to me it did and still does. I feel like everyone looks at me there. All my sisters have it but it makes me feel embarrassed. I love leggings but it just looks bad. I wish that there is some kind of underwear that pushes it down so that it won't show. I really hope the you people know you shouldn't be ashamed of it. It's cause you have a different body structure. You bone is just more popped out. They need to invent some type of surgery for girls who are ashamed of it. The bad part is that wearing those really tight dresses look bad on some people who have that. I think it depends on the size of it. Just pretend you don't have it. Show it of to make you tell people that you don't care. Live life and don't worry about it.

Ladies!! It's super sexy!! When I see a girl on the beach, and she has that sexy little definitive public bone - all I think is holy damn that's hot. My GF has one, she hates it, I tell her every day how sexy and beautiful it is. Stop trying to be perfect, nobody is. I think if you ask men what they think of it - you'll be pleasantly surprised. I love it. Oh, and it does NOT mean you have a fat or large vagina. I've had several gf's with a definitive public bone and their vagina was the best I've ever had. Love your public bone - it's hot.

Oh ferr krisssakes would you women stop worrying about every facet of your bodies? Relax, really, it is not something to be concerned about.
You have to realize that most of us guys are exceedingly happy that a nice friendly woman has miraculous things like boobs and a vagina and lets us touch them now and then.
