What the hell does gender have to do with it??

I don't see why a girl can't be obsessed with it. It's a fascinating subject. I don't tend to obsess over anything but I do enjoy the night sky and have a few books on the subject.

Why is this even questioned? A girl liking science is just as common as a boy liking science. Science is not a boy-thing.

So am I. I'm obsessed with learning the mysteries of our Universe and there have been many times where I've considered becoming a Astronomer.

Yeah, it's normal. There used to be a female IINer who studied astrophysics. It's one of my big things too (I also studied astrophysics) and I came close to spending a lot of money on a telescope earlier this month. If I was female, I think I'd still feel the same about the stars.

There was a comet which was partially named after a female. The two astronomers Carolyn Shoemaker and David Levy discovered a comet which would become known as Shoemaker-Levy9.

There are lots of female astronomy professors. My old girlfriend was one of them.

Astronomy is absolutely my favorite subject. I'm a guy...but I don't see what affect gender would have.
