Is it normal for a girl to ride motorbikes?

I recently got my provisional license for my motorbike. Unfortunately my dad has been trying to put me off riding my bike.

According to my dad, it's un-ladylike and guys hate it when girls ride motorbikes (oh and only dykes ride motorbikes- not to be a homophobe or anything, I'm not completely straight either) and I by no means look manly or tomboyish so... Is it normal? And what do the guys out there think of it?

Men like my motorcycle. Well...the kind of men I like, who are big and full of testosterone and like their women with a little rough streak in them...that's not everyones type.
Do what YOU want, not what a non-existent husband possibilty wants. Would you really want to be with a man who stifled your interests for the sake of being ladylike?

i don't understand the Q. surely you don't think there is anything unusual about a girl wanting to ride a bike? I find it manly and a turn off. but do what makes you happy. ride on babe

Well, I'm not a guy, but I do think that you shouldn't care about what other people think. If it's something you enjoy doing, and it's not harming you or anyone else, then I think it's fine. They just need to get over it, and stop with stereotypical crap.

My childhood best friend rode dirtbikes all the time. She was barely 90lbs and would ride these huge 200cc bikes. The guys loved it, and she knew it.

Her dad wanted a boy so she got boy toys. My parents were anti motor bikes but allowed him to teach me to ride the 2-stroke. It would only start on a downhill run. Fond memories, thanks for the flashback.

As a girl, I'm iffy about motorbikes.. But I'm almost certain that's because the only bikes I see in my area are the ugly ones that old men ride; leaning back a ridiculous amount and hands above their ears.
I dont think guys or girls are sexy on bikes... Just like neither are particularly sexy in a car, or on rollerblades..

Do what you like, you're dad is allowed to dislike it, respect him, and recognise his concern for you.
I hate generalising, but in movies the only girls I've seen riding bikes (frequently, not occasionally) have been 'larger-boned, frazzle-haired, decked in leather' or the kind that's 'head to toe in pink, same bleached hair from highschool.' perhaps it's the lack of variety I see?

I ride a motorcycle and i love it when i see a chick on her bike, especially if her ass looks great loll. Im talking about sports/standard bikes, if you ride a harley/custom, yeah you look gayish

Girls on motorbikes? Sexy as hell! But girlfriends on motorbikes? I always feel really concerned and protective and come off as a bit of a killjoy. I know women are safer drivers than men, but I worry because accidents often aren't the motorcyclist's fault. I even worry about the two people above me in this post and I didn't even know either of them were motorcyclists until 30 seconds ago.

Hey lots of guys think women who ride bikes are hot.

However if you live at home you have to obey your parents. If you have your own place, bike on.
