Is it normal for a kitten (<6 months) to beat up on older adult cats?

My neighbor has a cat that come by to visit when she is outside. She is really a kitty, less than 6 months old, and skinny. She is perfectly friendly with me, and very energetic, loves play, strings, like what you'd expect.

But when the other nieghbor's cats are out she seems evil.
They are males and much older and bigger than her. You can hear them fighting sometimes. She chases them down and bites them and they scream and run in terror.

Those other cats should stop being pussies.

I am very amused by your use of vocabulary.

Maybe the kitten is asserting dominance. For one thing she is much smaller so she has to act big. You also said she is a women so she would want to protect her title and fight with males. However the males will generally try to be more dominant. Some females will end up being the more dominant ones.

    • I'm guessing that too. The other cats are pretty big and I don't think she is biting hard because she bites me in play and it's never THAT bad.

Yup, sounds normal. Kitties love to play and fight. Most older cats get lazy over the years.

Yeah, dominant traits are there from early on. My family once had an older dog and a puppy at the same time. The older dog was aggressive with the puppy but it didn't last long. After about six months, we had to separate them when they ate because the younger dog became dominant and was savage about it. She grew out of it (or at least learned how to use her dominance better).

My kitten picks on our 17 pound male cat. It's a little bit sad.
