Ok, so I'm in another state for school. Coming here I understood that I have to be more careful as far as calling others "friend" or "foe" . Anyways a few of my classmates and went outside for our lunch break. We instantly began talking about school. Throughout the conversation these particular people began making rude remarks about me as soon as I walk away... I could hear them. I didn't respond . I could hardly believe how phony they were that when they walk by all I could say was "wow" . Now this has been happening for over a month now . I haven't spoken with them but they continue to talk about me and now I feel like everyone's against me . I feel that their upset b/c I'm not feeding in. However, it's annoying as hell. So now what should I let my social status go down the drain and let them know how I truly feel , Or still lose status and stay quiet?

    Lace their food with sleeping powder, but them in your car, drive them out to the woods and leave them there. I'm sure they'll never tall about you again.

    If you judge everybody by the actions of a few guilty parties, that makes you an asshole. Direct your vitriol towards only those deserving of it.

    But it's obviously difficult finding your feet and fitting in when moving. There's no definitively correct way of challenging bullying, because every situation is different. These people might back-off if you confront them, or they might see they've pissed you off and continue.

    It's all the more difficult because you're the newbie and haven't necessarily established a firm social network who can support you. If you do have one or two reliable friends at the school, mention it to them and see what they think. They might back you up if you do confront these people.

    So it's really up to you to judge the best course of action.

      Thank you. I like when people are up front. I can come off blunt. I never had a problem with speaking up for people. I told a girl off about a certain bullying incedient . I thought it was rude of her. The next week, I lost a friend. The next a few more. I'm not sure, but I think I'm not so popular anymore. I feel like If I don't join into the torture of the weak , I will become the weakest.

    I've had to put up with people like that for my entire life. It's just a situation in the real world - insecure people band together and gossip and make up lies about those who seem more confident than they are. Often, especially in a social situation filled with immature people like college tends to be sometimes, other sheep go along with it. The average person is three times more likely to believe something negative they're told about someone else than something positive. Haters ALWAYS gonna hate, and it sucks when you find out people are that lame, but just pick up your head and know that means they are ignorant of their own self-hatred, and they wish they could be you. Just forget about them because, like you said, it is a temporary situation. In this world, just a few people will love you (usually your family and close friends) and you will choose to love just a few people compared to how many "friends" you ever have in any situation in life.

    Don't let the bastards get you down. Just be yourself and don't stop doing that. Success is the best revenge.

    For a minute I thought you were talking about IIN. Yes it is very normal. It seems more common in the cities but the cities have the coolest places to hang.
