Is it normal for a student to act this way?

One of my friend fails in his math test, he goes out of the class crying, without even saying anything. Then after the teacher left, some of the boys called me to talk to him, and so I did. I tried my best to comfort him, and well... Turns out he's scared of his father. He's scared that his father might yell at him or something. I comfort him, and share some of my stories, hoping he'll feel better. After he did, he asked me to accompany him to the teacher's room to talk to our maths teacher about giving him extra assignment for extra marks. Well, being the good person I am, I didn't say no.

So off I go with him to the teachers' room. At first, we got into a bit of a debate, but then it seems that he'll get the extra assignment. Okay, end of problem, for him.

Now the real problem starts with me. i feel a bit... bad for my teacher. I didn't mean to be too cocky or nosy, just because I've been elected as the school prefect recently. I just wanted to help the poor boy, that's all. What should I do?

Should I apologize to the teacher? Or should I just... not think about it?
Please reply soon :((

Btw, sorry about my grammar, English is not my mother tongue XD

Unless you threatened your teacher it should be fine.

I'm a highschool teacher and like the above poster said: the teacher wouldn't have agreed unless the teacher was ok with it. Nothing to worry about. If the teacher wouldn't agree with or 'resent' something then the teacher would talk with you about it.

Just don't think about it, the teacher wouldn't have done it if they didin't agree.

I'm not seeing that you did anything wrong. What is it that you're feeling bad about, I don't think I fully understand. Anyway, I think you did a very good think helping out your friend. You never really know what goes on in his home, and although people never see it, some kids are victims of terrible domestic violence. If he was crying saying he was scared of his dad, he probably gets beaten all the time. I don't think you should do anything that would make your teacher not give him the extra marks. I would rather feel guilty about whatever it is you are feeling guilty about(still not sure what it is), then to feel guilty later about your friend being beaten while you could of prevented it.

I think you did a very good thing and there is no need to feel ashamed about it.

    Excellent english btw.
If you feel uncomfortable, in my experience, there is usually a reason. I would probably explain the situation to my teacher as there may be something more to this.

A teacher would never give into a cocky student unless they agreed it was a good idea. I doubt you need to say anything, just be friendly towards that teacher and smile. I'm sure they'll get the message that you appreciate them helping you fellow student.
