Is it normal for adults to drink milk?

So this isn’t me, but I have a cousin who claims and says that Milk is considered a “Child’s Drink”? He claims milk is specifically made for Kids, babies, and children to drink only? He says adults should really have no business at all to be drinking milk? What do you think? Is Milk a “Baby” drink? Or can any age of people drink milk?

You can't eat cereal without milk. There are plenty of cereals made for adults. Therefore, milk is for children and adults.

Milk is actually very good for you. It contains calcium which we need for healthy teeth and strong bones. It also contains a range of vitamins and minerals that are really good for our bodies regardless of age.

I watched a documentary some time ago where they took a large group of people with varying levels of fitness and put them through a rigorous exercise regime. Afterwards they were all tested with some complicated technology equipment to find their energy levels. They were then randomly split into two groups. Half were given energy drinks and the other half were given milk. After a set length of time they were all retested, none of the testers knew who had what to drink. When they examined the results all those that had milk had recovered their energy level more than those who had energy drinks.

Lassis with curry? Milk in cereal? Milk in coffee?

    All consumed by adults.

There's a particular milk I like when going to bed

I'm 32 and drink 3-4 cups of lactose free milk a day. Plain milk goes well with cereal or cookies. Flavored milks like strawberry, chocolate, or banana can be paired with almost any meal.
    :)

Milk is a "food" beverage with certain nutritious properties.

For some people that fits into their diet, and others it does not.

It is a totally normal part of most diets.

Nutritionally milk is pretty much useless for adults. Then again, so are most things many of us frequently consume. I don't know why one would take umbrage with people drinking milk specifically; your cousin just sounds like a fucking pedant.

For me, milk is the only thing that makes coffee tolerable. I tried butter coffee and it's just not the same

I don't think it's nutritionally useless, it does have many nutrients. I have tried tracking my nutrients and found that if I take out the dairy I would consequently get way too little calcium so in that case its beneficial

That first point against drinking milk is actually untrue. Milk snakes drink cow milk. The third point against is also untrue. It will actually hurt a cow a lot more to go un-milked.

Milk snakes do not actually drink milk. They’re frequently found in barns and people assumed they were after milk from their cows when really they were looking for rodents.

I could've sworn that I heard milk snakes drink milk in an educational thing. It must have been wrong. Or maybe I misremembered.

It's okay. It was a common myth I think, especially in the early 1900s and before.

Normal, certain birds like oxpeckers will occasionally steal milk from ungulates like impalas. And some seabirds have been observed suckling from elephant seals. Many mammals, like cats, are often lactose intolerant past infancy but still enjoy drinking milk.
