Is it normal for an autistic girl to be afraid of moving away?

Her dad's girlfriend mentioned going away to college and she become very scared saying she didn't want to be around all the people and out of her routine. We are also searching for alternatives to a college classroom when the time comes. (if she wants it)
She has anxiety around people she doesn't know, and anxiety about living by herself. I just want to know is it normal, I thought most teenagers got excited over thinking about stuff like that. Advice please and alternatives to a regular college classroom? :)

I saw all your posts and it seems like you see your friend's autism more than you see your friend. All autistic people are different because all people are different period. Do not lump your friend with all autistic people like they're all a species or something. She is unique to herself and one of a kind. All people are.

I know more than you do. It's her parents who don't see it, they just want her to be "normal".

You know my knowledge based on...what? I'm basing my comment about your lack of knowledge on...guess what? YOUR words.

        Reread your post.

One does not have to be autistic to be terrified of moving. I HATE moving. I moved nine years ago and it still seems odd. I understand she, as an autistic person, definitely doesn't want to disrupt her routine. I would not push her into moving, it might increase unwanted autistic tendencies. I would enroll her in a local community college or help her find a local job.

Just who is "We"? You are not the girlfriend or the father. So just who are you to this girl?
