Is it normal for autistic step brother to shave his head since

Since my step brother was 13 he started shaving his head bald so there was no sign of hair at all. This caused a lot of confusion when he was a kid many thought he was a kid with cancer but now he's 24 and he still shaves and now waxes his head bald and he shaves his arms, legs and underarms and he puts an abundance of lotion and oil on his body so he always looks wet so it's a strange look overall.

When my parents and I try to say things like it would be nice to see you with hair on your head or I wonder what you'd look like with it or without the oil he gets really defensive and angry saying "I don't like hair on my body, hair is gross. I don't want it on me and I'll never ever have hair on my body so shut up hair is disgusting" we aren't even being serious with him just casually saying it and only maybe 5 times year at most and his tone gets mad. I'm wondering is this the autism you think?

He uses bikini wax on his head and whole body every day too. Not even a day without him walking around with bikini wax on his head and whole body.

    I suggest you stop making comments about his hair and just drop it all together. Even though you say it's only 5 times a year that you nag him, that's still too much. You're all probably annoying him and making things worse.

    It's not exactly normal, but I think it's understandable with the autism. Just don't bring it up to him.

    Considering he is autistic it might have to do with a sensation thing. Autistic people sometimes have particular sensory experiances that bother them. Like they might be overly sensitive to sounds,light and various ither stimuli. He might find the sensation of hair disgusting but if you are not in his shoes its not going to make sense. Since he is experiencing everything way different than everyone else. If you say hes using bikini wax though I might advise him do it less often. As bikini wax can sometimes cuase issues and you probobly should waxso often

    Dont bring it up anymore. The lotion part is kind of weird if its making him look shiny.

    I've heard of some guys using wax to keep their head clean shaven, and a lot of guys don't like having body hair, and like the others said he most likely has sensory issues with hair on his body.

    He may experience sensory issues from hair. Stop bugging him about it. He probably reacts like that because you don't understand how it feels for him.

      We don't bug him we only mention it a few times because he looks unusual with it and many people think he has alopecia because he doesn't keep hair anywhere on his body. It's a really strange habit we're hoping he breaks.

        If hair causes him sensory issues it's not a "habit" but rather something that keeps him sane and comfortable. I think it's about time you and the rest of your family actually learn something about autism. It doesn't matter if he looks strange as long as he's happy, does it? Or is your reputation more important to your family than the comfort of your autistic brother?
