Is it normal for black skin to be around my toenail?

I dropped a weight on my toe and broke it. Theres now black skin developing around my toe nail. Is this normal, or is something like gangrene developing? Very scared.

    It's called a bruise and you're probably going to lose the toenail eventually

      Actually when it happened i just kept working out cause i didnt think it was that serious haha.

    Its completely black and it wasnt there the first week. Its also raised.

      If that is the case, it might be a blood blister. Go see a doctor and have them look at it. If it is a blood blister then they will just poke it with a needle and get the blood that is in the blister out.
