Is it normal for cats to treat you different when you're stoned?

I have cats, and iv'e been around other peoples cats when high on weed. I notice cats that like me usually stay away from me and just smell me and stare at me when i'm high. Iv'e also had cats that are usually shy of me come up to me wanting attention when high. Can cats tell when you're high? Do your cats act strange when you've been smoking?

It's probably just your stoned perception that they are acting different. Just like how some people who get baked think that people who are not baked are treating them differently.

My cats don't like smoke and since I try to share my smoke with them, they make themselves scarce when it's 4:20pm. ;)

Most people can't even tell when I'm baked - only my husband and my closest friend can. One woman told me once, that she would start smoking pot if she could act as normal as I do. But I wasn't always this way, it takes a bit of practice.

Maybe they got a contact high and they're acting the opposite of what they usually do because they're stoned as well?

I'm glad someone else has experienced this! My cat is completely aloof all of the time EXCEPT when I have smoked weed. He is never affectionate or cuddly but when I'm stoned he will curl up close to me and start purring. He also hates men, but if there are men in the room while we are all smoking he will be completely cool with it and hang around and want to be close to us all.

I'm currently fostering a mother cat and her kitten, went into their room stoned last night and petted them both - again, purring like crazy. I honestly believe they can tell. They are quite sensitive to peoples' energy and certain stimuli, so if you're on a chill wavelength they will dig that and want to be with you.
