Is it normal for computer to shut down after a scan?

I did a computer scan. On my new computer I have not had any registered viruses in days. Which shocked me since I got lots on my old computer. I figured since it was updated the protection is probably a lot better than on my outdated system that I used before. However before the scan was able to finish it froze and screen went black. I am not sure if I should be concerned. I used the manual shut off button but by doing this cancelled the scan so it never finished. It was very close to finishing as well. What does this mean? Should I be concerned? What should I do about this?

It's normal for computers to restart after a scan, so when it shuts down, it should start back up again.

With this information there are not many things I can do. Also this site is not a right place to discuss these sorts of problems since it is full of retarded trolls and stupid people.

Please visit Tom's hardware or overclock forums. They should be able to give you a proper feedback.

I'd suggest to do that soon because that is definitelly not normal.

Either your computer's hardware is insuficient, or I dunno.

You should say what are your computer specs:
Mother board, Ram, GPU, CPU, HDD, optical drive, BIOS version and operating system.

Maybe after that I will be able to give you a diagnose.
