Is it normal for dogs to run away from home

I have a dog and he is a stupid idiot that can't get anything right. Anyways last week I came home and he torn up the house and pooped on my bed. I screamed at him and took away his toys. I also didn't feed him dinner just to punish. A few days later I found he opened the window and jumped out. Now I have to take off work to look for this dumb dog that gets on my nerves. Is it normal for dogs to run away like this? Do they come back?

    When a dog runs away it's because it's afraid and doesn't want to be a part of your home. You don't appear to understand dog behaviour.

    Fish might make a better 'pet' for you; you'll have more control over them. But, whatever pets you decide to own, do yourself and them a favour: read about how to properly care for them beyond what type of food to feed them.

    he sounds like a pretty smart dog if he can open windows you sure he didnt just walk out the front door

    tearing up the house and whatnot just reflects poorly on you the person who trained the dog not the dog himself so your the dumbass
