Is it normal for me to hate these people?

Hello, im 19 years of age and well this is my story. Recently i posted a question in yahoo answers asking for some advice (not gonna go into details about it) But i noticed on how people will bash at you just so they can seem like the good people that care about society and then make you look like the only dick in society. Good example: A person speaks out freely on how he or she opposes same sex marriage, so then these people come in saying that the person is a scumbag, a burden in society and that they should die or kill themselves. I mean bashing at people for speaking out freely and being honest? I personally dont like same sex marriage but that doesnt give me ANY RIGHTS to stop or bad talk about them or even hate on them. Ill just say " ok do it but i dont like it " and people will come at me for this. And these people have the nerve to say whatever they want towards me just so they can seem like a do-gooder in front of everybody, just so they can feel the satisfaction of being seen as a great person. I mean all i ever do is speak how i feel and what i think. God i hate these types of people, and like always, i know people will bash at me here too just for posting this.

    You have a right to your opinion, but they also have a right to express their opinions on your opinion. I don't see what's unfair about that.

    Try to put yourself in others' shoes. To supporters of same-sex marriage, you're essentially saying, "Well, I don't think black people and white people should marry" or "You know, women really shouldn't get the vote." The opinions you express -- and I agree, you have a right to them -- are shockingly backward to people who believe that love really should conquer all and that same-sex couples should have access to the same 1,000+ legal and financial benefits that hetero married couples enjoy.

    You don't like it. I get that. What I don't get is what you feel you accomplish by sharing that sentiment. I don't really like it when I see a smart person dating an idiot, but it isn't my place to tell that other person who he or she can date or marry. Why do people need to know your opinion on same-sex marriage? I can see mentioning it in passing, but it sounds like you went out of your way to post a question relating to same-sex marriage and how much you didn't like it.

    I don't go around talking about how much I dislike lemon cookies unless someone offers me one. If a gay guy proposes to you, you have every right to turn him down just like I do with those cookies. Otherwise, no one who doesn't know you personally really cares whether you're against gay marriage.

      I hate it when people compare homosexuality to Race!

      I don't remember gays being slaves for over 100 years cause they were gay? Gays can hide being gay! I'm Black I can't HIDE it at all!

        The point is that gays were oppressed in many countries and still are. Do you know why they call gays "faggots"? Because back in the day, you were burned on a bundle of sticks called a faggot if you were gay.
        People compare the two because it's basically the same thing. Discrimination is discrimination, no two ways about it.

          I'm sorry I don't find it the same thing at all! We will just have to disagree.
          I'll never compare being gay to be black. Absolutely just can't at all.

          Love to see a white gay guy and black girl in apartheid times and see who gets preferential treatment. I'm from South Africa , still feel it. Can't compare gayness to blackness just cannot!

    Me too! Same sex marriage is What I don't like! But I truly Enjoy the company of feminine gay men! But I don't like the sodomy

      I dont hate same sex marriage i have no problem with it, What i hate is people only reading the bad things about comments with out thinking and bash at the poster for it. Perfect example like the people who have replied here, they think i hate gay/lesbian when i dont, i clearly sated it as AN EXAMPLE, but like always people turn the tables and use it to their advantage.

    If a person speaks stupid bullshit, he deserves to be bashed. What did you expect? YOU can be honest and speak freely, but others can do so, too. And if they think you're stupid, they can express this feeling such as you can.
