Is it normal for my 3 year old lab to be afraid to go in the kitchen?

My 3 year old lab became afraid to go in the kitchen and in the restroom, she would not go in there even for her favorite snack.

Well there are usually lots of dangerous objects or things in the kitchen, think about it. Knives, blenders, toasters, ovens, microwaves, even refrigerators. Any one of those could have scared a puppy who doesn't know better. The restroom I don't know, but the shower or toilet can be scary too.
