Is it normal for my cat to eat my eyelashes while i sleep?

I have a 3 year old short hair, domestic cat. While I am asleep, she eats my eyelashes allot. I usually have mascara on them, and it's getting to be a little much because you can notice a significant loss on one of my eyes, then the other you cannot. I am simply wondering if this is normal.

It's normal, and I'd say OK, except that it's causing your eyelashes to fall out... Unfortunately there's not really anything you can put on your eyes to deter her... My best suggestions are: wear a face mask, buy her more (fun) toys, or lock her out (If you're like me I know that's a hard thing to do). Good luck!

i find locking her out is a very hard thing to do. i have a mask but it falls off in the middle of the night. she is always with me because i make sure she is alright because she has medical conditions that i need to make sure she is still alive sometimes throughout the night, she gets comfort from being with me.
she doesnt play, she is a very lazy cat, but i will have to think of another way ! Thank you very much for your reply!

I'd either start using a sleep mask or lock her out of your room... I love sleeping with my kitties, but you could get an eye infection from that.

Why don't you take your mascara off before you sleep. And your cat is weird.

Not normal at all. Wash the mascara off and wear protective googles before you sleep. There's a risk that your cat might accidental bite your eye and give an infection.

I do not think this is healthy for your cat to be digesting make up. I think maybe make them sleep outside your room when you go to sleep. It might be they think they are cleaning your eyelashes.

Why are you sleeping with mascara on? That's a good way to break off your lashes even if you don't have a kitty gnawing on them. A sleep mask is a good idea, but a better one is to remove the mascara that apparently tastes so appetizing to your cat.

My cat likes to sniff my eyeballs, but he leaves my lashes alone.

I sleep with mascara on because I have a small sleep schedule and it is hard to take it off.
When I feel tired I go directly to bed because I have a sleeping disorder. I will have to try to find a way to take it off. Thank you.
