Is it normal for my cat to pull at his water dish before he drinks?

So my cat, loves to paw at his water dish before he drinks. He will practically drag it across the kitchen floor before drinking any of it. He usually likes to drink it off the floor. Is this normal?

    That's actually so funny, because my cat likes to scoop her food out of her bowl and then set it on the ground to eat it. She's a goofball.

    I think it might be normal, considering my cat does almost the same thing- she paws at it then licks the water off her paws. I guess cats just be craaazzyy

    My sisters cat has a bowl with clean fresh water in it 24/7 and it goes outside and drinks out dirty puddles...WTF
