Is it normal for my dog to be this weird?

I Used to live in a house with all wood floors and whenever I would give my dog a little snack she would go to the one rug in the whole house and eat the food over it. Now I have moved and still if I give her a snack in the kitchen she has to go to the carpeted living room and eat out there. Does any other dog do this?

  • Animal instinct. Sorta like why crocodiles drag their prey jnto the water before they finish eating it. Animals have a special zone where they'd very much prefer to eat lunch. Same reason y some of us eat in the kitchen and not the bathroom

  • its because the dog has claimed that area as its own and will always bring its food there if your dog has ever peed over at the spot it is eating at when a dog pees its saying that this is my area and if you have another dog the smell of pee on the floor means that its OK to pee there for them and will most likely pee there alot if it isn't house trained hope this is help full by

It's because of the slick floors. Her claws can't get a grip on bare floors.

Some dogs don't like hardwood floors since they can't get traction.

I'm pretty sure it's normal. My dog does this too.

My dog always does it. Even when he's eating out of his regular food bowl he will go and bring it all the way over to the rug!
