whenever i give my dog a back rub his thing comes out and he gets really excited and wags his tail??? not sure if that is normal behavior
hes not a filthy pos! or a pervert! we all get our urges and they can come on at the wrong time!!
Don't include me in this "we have urges" thing. YOU may compare yourself and your urges to that of a dog all you want, but leave me out of it.
When someone asks questions on a site like this one, they are going to get all kinds of answers. Just because you disagree with an answer is no reason to get all offended and turn around and attack the person who answered. You need to either toughen up, or stop asking questions!

To the author, it's perfectly normal for a dog to get an 'erection' when excited or enjoying something (like a back rub).
A dog's erection reflex reaction is different yet similar to a humans, a sudden increase in blood pressure due to a variety of reasons like excitement, stress, etc can trigger an erection in both species.
Then don't forget that practically anything that feels good can cause an sexual reaction in humans, the story is the same for almost all animals.

I had a friend whose dog did this, it only happened when the dog was older. if it doesn't hurt the dog I guess it's ok but If the dog goes through pain see a vet
Get him fixed, please. He's horney as hell. When you cut his balls off, he'll be afraid to stick his weenie out. My son finally got his dog fixed. He was humpin' everything. He's a much nicer pet, now.
