When I wake up in the morning my fingers smell like poop. I do not put fecal matter on my fingers before I go to sleep.
Confucius say "Man who go to bed with itchy butt wake up with smelly fingers." My conclusion is that your ass gets itchy every night, and you scratch it in your sleep. If this is the case, go ahead and consult your doctor. My other theory is that you like anal, and you finger your ass while you're sleeping.
It's not like aliens are visiting you in the middle of the night and putting poop smells on your digits. You are scratching your ass in your sleep.
It's normal for people to do things in their sleep that they can't remember when they wake up the next morning. Same thing as sleepwalking. However, I do think you'll need some kind of therapy to get rid of this behaviour. Until then, just wash your hands every morning.
