Is it normal for my grandmother to wake up at 2 am to fry an egg?

My grandmother is staying over for the week and for the past two days, because I'm up at 2 am, I notice she gets up at that hour and fries eggs. I'm in the room across from the kitchen so I can see and hear everything. I think she even sets her alarm for 2am and she goes to sleep at 10pm. She cooks the egg and eats it and then she goes back to sleep. I almost feel like asking her why she does this and if we could just have fried eggs ready for her so when she wakes up, she can just have one. After she goes back to sleep, she wakes up around 7.

I really don't know why she does this. I didn't even tell my other family members yet and don't know how to.

Dress up like a hen and go running wildly into the kitchen and scream "my babies! My babies!!!"

It is possible that this is OCD like behaviour or something similar . If I were you I would take out the eggs which you can cheaply replace anyways and see if she drives out to a 24 hour store or becomes frustrated with the situation . This might indicate how determined the obsession is or maybe because she is not at home there is another reason like maybe she thinks they will be eaten before she awakes . I am curious why she does this as well and I think I might become obsessed with finding out if I was in your shoes haha

Eggs contain protein. Protein keeps fuller for a longer duration of time than food that is solely high in carbohydrates would. She probably dies this to keep her hunger cravings in check so, that she can wait to eat her breakfast in the late morning.
