Is it normal for my ipod touch to drain battery this fast?

I've had my iPod touch 4g for a lil over three months and all of a sudden the battery drains really fast now. I used it for an hour and it dropped to 55% today. I use it daily for 5-6 hours a day and it never drained that fast before. Is anyone else having this problem? Should I get the battery replaced?

Turn off wifi and Bluetooth, push notifications, auto updates (email).
Dim your screen brightness, switch to power saving wallpapers and display.
Don't over charge battery (the battery charges in less than 8hours, not ideal for overnight charging).
Limit internet use, and wifi-using apps.

Rechargable batteries are infamous for this, I work in the tech industry, and the best tip I can give for preserving your battery life is to let the device completly die, or get very close, like 5% before you plug it in, then when you do plug it in, let it get to 100% before using it again. Those batteries have a sort of "memory", if you don't expend all of the energy between uses, or let it charge fully before using it again, you are essentially destroying the battery little bits at a time. This applies to anything rechargeable.

Yeah the screen brightness can suck the life out of the battery.

Another one is TURNING OFF YOUR WIFI when you're not using it as well.

I know that for me, it usually takes about a day for my touch to be recharged. But recently, to use less battery, I gave my brightness as low as I can stand it, and I monitor it when it charges. If you over charge it, it will ruin your battery
