Is it normal for my sister's dog to...

Make a sound like a dying animal? He was in his crate downstairs and I was in my room, and all of a sudden I hear this awful cry. It was very brief, and I want to go check on him, but I am scared that I will find him dead or something. He is a 12 or 13 year old Maltese and Poodle mix. I am waiting for him to make another noise, but so far, nothing. IIN?

Dogs shouldnt sleep in crates if they can roam free! It cause behav issues. He could have injured itself and yelped!?

He's probably crying because your sister shoves him in a crate like a lazy, half assed pet owner who is neglecting her animal. Tell your sister to get off her ass an actually take care of her pet.

Spend the time you can with him and give him as much attention as you can. You never know when he'll be gone so give him lots of happiness while you still have the chance. Doggies aren’t meant to be caged they need to be loose and active, he needs alil freedom.

Your maltipoo is sad. Get rid of the cage and spend more time with it.

      This.

OP, unlike cats, dogs are social and often don't like being left alone and certainly not in a crate to ferment with their own poo. She's knows you're listening. She wants out and she wants company.
