Is it normal for my sister to sit on my lap?

My sister and I are as close as normal siblings are I guess. She's been sitting on my lap since were kids. So I would let her sit on my lap when we were little because she was smaller than me, but now that we are older she still does it. In the house, if there is no room on the couch, it's either my lap or moms. She does it in public though, which is the embarrassing part. We try and tell her it's wierd now, but she's so used to it. So, is it wierd? And how do I make it stick that she needs to grow out of it already?

    Ease her in with a joke.

    Tell her,"Sis, you're not fat, but you're too big to sit on our laps. You're becoming a... I cant say it. It's too soon." Pretend to tear up and look away, then continue, "a grown up okay. You're crushing our leg bones!"

    This is just an example, make any joke you want depending on her age.

    She'll either laugh or be like "what lol", and then you can explain how you guys feel and she may or may not stop.

      Yeah, maybe that's the way to go. You're right, she's not fat, pretty small actually. She is smaller than me, but a year older.

      That's what I would tell her..she can sit on mi lap all ahe wants as long as it's just us...ahe might like the feel of what she is sitting on

            You know what you could do? Every time she sits on your lap just literally get up, and move away from her.
