Is it normal for my testicles to hurt and swell in the beach?

I live in a hot place and relatively close to a couple beaches and when i go to the beach in swimming trunks or in shorts my balls start to hurt in no time specially if im sunbathing, i always have to put a piece of clothing or a towel on top but it looks like im hiding an erection, when i'm not.
And the pain is unberable after a while, they start twitching, i get painful spasms or cramps and all of a sudden my balls swell up, it's awful. My father don't have this problem lol he just worries that a beach ball at high speed might hit him square the groin/ balls or in the face while he's sunbathing, he told me this! :D.
And i don't see other guys having this problem either... Some guys are sensible to salt water but this is not the case.
My dad asummes my skin is sensible to high temperatures.
What do you guys think?
