Is it normal for my vagina to itch

Sorry about the tmi question but I'm a bit worried. Sometimes, it just gets itchy down there. It's not horrible and there's no rash on the skin or anything, it just sometimes gets uncomfortable (going away after I put Vaseline or adjust my pants or something). It's not often either and there are no changes in my discharge. I just don't know if it's normal. I do have hair down there that I trim. I thought it was that at first but when I shaved it would still occasionally happen. The entire reason I'm asking is because the Internet says that it's never normal for it to itch. I would ask my doctor, but it's kind of embarrassing.
