Is it normal for people to be mad at me for eating healthy?

I am someone who is trying to stop abusing my body with junk food, so for context, I used to eat a lot of junk food until I was told by my doctor to try and eat healthily. I'm only eating healthily because I want to make positive changes for myself but also to lose weight as I've got weight loss goals.

Many times people have been mad at me for wanting to make positive changes for my body and they often try to guilt-trip me into thinking that I'm following "diet culture " ( which BTW sounds ridiculous ).

My goal for years to come is to live a longer life and to get my happiness back on track.

Don't let other people make you feel bad about it. You're doing it for your well-being and it's a good thing.

If your friends are telling you that then you need new friends. Junk food isn’t good for anyone.

Sounds like people who are bitter about their own inability to exercise self control and better their health and resent you for being able to do what they aren't willing to. Either that, or they subscribe to that wacky train of thought that weight loss/healthy lifestyles are "fatphobic" (and I really think that stems from bitterness/jealousy as well).

If people have a problem with you making better choices for your health, they obviously do not have your best interests in mind, and it's best you distance yourself from them. That's a very weird thing for anyone to be mad about.
