Is it normal for people to make assumptions about religion?

It doesn't seem right to me for so many people to claim that they know the Bible and God's word without ever having sit down and studied the scriptues and their meanings and then not even applying what God's word says into their own lifes. Doesn't sound right to me.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Let 'em be hypocrites; they'll never see it any other way. It isn't right, but don't let it affect you.

I have read the Christian bible. I think it's 90% utter nonsense and 10% good advice. You have your opinion, I have mine.

Most people who know a lot about the Bible are atheists.

I havent read much of the bible but i 100% believe in god, and i beleive that he had to put us here, i also see evolution as fact, but i just think that its wierd to say there was complete nothingness and out a nothingness came a huge explosion, and out of this explosion dinosaurs were born(or little bacteria) the point is i beleive that god started life and life worked itself out according to his plan, which is still probably in progress

    GOOD SUGGESTIONS^^^^^

Also, bear in mind that one definition of religion is "of the heart"

Thus, I am a believer that scripture can be taken in more than one way. For me, I don't know (nor do I care) if there really was an Adam and Eve....it's the moral of the story that matters to me. Some believe literally, others believe liberally, I believe personally.

  • Still listen to their opinion sometimes those that know too much are confused and make mistakes that people less religious wouldnt make Many sects started from people that were religiously powerful

You're entitled to your opinion but what annoys me is when people are ignorant and claim thay know the Bible. I don't apply what the Bible says into my life but it does annoy me when people don't and claim they're 'religious'.

Being religious doesn't mean you have to read a book. But, I think I know what you mean though; those fervent religious folk who rant and rave about their religion - or spew out verses of "scripture" - but they are actually the least educated in what their religion truly means. Those people are annoying to everyone. Live and let live.
