Is it normal for people to not change at all since high school?

I was facebook stalking some people from high school and middle school and it baffles me to see that they have not changed in the least. They are older and that's just about it. One of them used to be quite the ladies man (to put it nicely), and he still is, he still parties a lot and such. Thing is, he is nearly 30. The metalhead one is still a metalhead. The otaku is still an otaku. The gothic poser is still a gothic poser. I'm not saying it is wrong to like these things as an adult, but it's strange how they still give it a lot of importance, and it's such a part of their identity. Is this normal?? I don't understand 'cause I've always been a chameleon.

I think when you're younger you imagine that you'll change a lot and life will be so different when you're done with school. But deep inside most people kind of stay the same. There is no one defining moment that completely changes your perspective on life. Life is a journey of learning and there's no age limit for that. Also the age that people feel on the inside and the age they are on the outside can be different

    Yes this can happen.

I don't think people really change they just act differently.

In many ways I haven't changed much; a ne'er do well, weird chick with roguish tendencies. Sometimes I lie on a couch in an office and the person with the clipboard accuses me of above average intelligence. I hope they won't expect too much of me. I'm quite mad you know.

He might not be showing a new side of himself, because he expects you to expect certain things of him. It's easy to fall into the trap of reverting to who I was, when dealing with people from my past. Then again, he could have stayed the same. There has to be growth or decay, to change. (At least he hasn't gotten any worse, right?)
