Is it normal for skype to do this?

I'm just wondering, are Skype glitches common? I have a friend who is still on my contact list, but the online/offline symbol doesn't appear next to her name, it's just a grey question mark. Either it's a glitch or she deleted me, but I don't know why she would delete me unless it was an accident. We're on good terms, she hasn't deleted me from any other social networking. However, I got to know her through mutual friends, she was dating one of my crush's best friends for almost a year and broke up recently. She was always supportive and wanted me to hook up with my crush, but since she broke up with his friend I haven't talked to her quite as much. I asked her but didn't hear back. Yeah, just thought I'd add some additional details but I'm mostly leaning toward the possibility that it was a technical glitch. Is this normal? Has anyone else had similar issues with Skype?

It just means that you haven't asked the contact with the grey question mark to let you see their Skype status.

Select a contact, then press the "Options" button, then scroll down and select "Request Detail".
That sends a message to the Skype user who, assuming they don't deny you the right, will allow the icon by their name on your contact list to show their Skype status. So when you next see their entry on the contact list you can see if they're available, off-line, away, etc.

Skype is unreliable. I use it all the time and have these messages that stay pending for a long time when the user is online or batches of messages from hours ago that suddenly arrive when a user just switches Skype on.

Yeah, skype is crap, but it's free... So I use it. I hate the glitches. I hate the adverts and constant updates and the poll "Rate your call".
The call was rubbish, cause skype is rubbish and german internet is even worse!

Maybe she did indeed delete you by accident.

On the other hand, I have indeed been noticing more glitches since Microsoft bought Skype.

Yeah, the grey questionmark means you aren't on her friendslist anymore, but i supposed it doesnt have to mean she deleted you, maybe she deleted her account. I don't know if it's a glitch, I've always assume they deleted me when I get that.

Maybe she just doesn't use Skype anymore, so she deleted everyone.
