Is it normal for the doctor's scale to be wrong?

When I was weighed at home and the dentist I was 160. But when I was weighed at the the clinic I was 175. My dentist and I use non-digital scales. But the clinic does. Same with my blood pressure. When he uses a non-digital machine to check my blood pressure its down. But with the digital one its up. I can also tell by my close I've lost weight since I last went to the doctors. I think their digital machines are crap.

Weight varies depending on what scale is used, whether or not you're wearing clothes, whether or not you've eaten, etc. Usually when I weigh myself I do it at home first thing in the morning naked, before I've eating and I make sure my bowels are empty. I get a pretty accurate measurement doing that.

I voted "normal" but I think it is just normal for who you are. I d love to have someone study this. I am one of those people. I ve met a few people like me and we usually can agree on the same things. For instance, if I am straining noodles and one falls out of the strainer and goes down the drain I feel bad for it. It s all alone. I could take another noodle and toss it down to be with the first noodle but the other noodle may feel that it lost it s chance in life because the first stupid noodle couldn t stay in the strainer. It would resent the first noodle all they way down the drain. Sometimes I try to "accidentally" toss another noodle out of the strainer so it would be in the same situation as the first noodle. But then it gets worse. There s a point where you have to run the garbage disposal. I just can t do it. I usually walk away and whisper to my husband (once I m out of hearing range of the noodles) to run the garbage disposal. I know it sounds crazy but it s just how my brain is wired.

I m not a very emotional person. To be honest, if I saw a homeless person on the side of the road and a plastic bag floating in the street, I would feel worse for the bag because it was alone and scared.

There are people who have feelings for some items (stuffed animals for example) because they have faces and are things we can grow emotional to because they make us feel better, but this is different. I feel bad for everything.

It s more of a concern that items don t get to live out their purpose in life. For example, I don t feel bad wiping my butt with toilet paper because that s the purpose of toilet paper. But if I saw a roll of toilet paper that is sitting in a puddle on the floor of the bathroom and it will be thrown away without being used, I would feel very bad for the roll.

I hope some psychology student wants to study this someday. I d love to know more about myself!
