Is it normal for this to happen in class

Is it normal to not want to let people cheat off of me in class? I've noticed that everywhere in the classroom people always ask me for answers to the questions we were instructed to do. I've sat in different areas of the room and i've noticed that i have three options: one is i could sit where i was in the beginning of the year, which is the part of the class that is failing, they like to goof around and interrupt the teacher. My second option is to sit on the opposite end in the back but this means that i wont be able to see the front of the classroom so well the people. And my third option is to sit in the middle back row of the classroom where i will be around many immature teens. Or what do you think i should do. Any advice would be helpful.

You could approach them after class and ask them not to do that. If they continue, ask out loud in class "Are you cheating off of me?" Solution will come if the teacher hears.

  • Oops, I voted wrong. I looked back to your title and voted no, it's not normal this happens in class instead of yes, it's normal to not want people to cheat off of you.

I am a "dick" when it comes to cheating. I only let my friends OCCASIONALLY cheat off of me, and there's no way in hell I let strangers cheat off me. I did the work, piss off you lazy leeches. It's something I am really strict about. I'll help people and encourage them to find the answer, but flat out tell them no if they ask to copy my work. I've been asked numerous times by classmates and I've said no to everyone Maybe saying a firm no will do you some good. I also agree with RoseIsabella, sitting in the front row is awesome. You don't have to see over anyone's head.

To recap...just say no and be stubborn. It's not much harder than that. Showing them how you found the answer is ok, but don't give in to their demands and give them the answer.
