You guys love it early from my experience!
It's genetic.
The same gene that makes us white also makes us want to have dinner early.
WHY DO WE CARE ABOUT WHEN OTHER PEOPLE SHOVE SUSTENANCE IN THEIR FACE HOLES?!
..Just wondering.
Funny, whenever I'm over at my friend's house, his Dad's, he always has dinner at around 6 and his father is black. While my other friend who's practically a European mutt has dinner at around 9.
I'm English. When I ate dinner, I had it at 12:30pm. I did have tea at 5:30pm, though, which is what you intended. Now I eat anything at anytime. Basically, I eat if I'm hungry, which makes a lot more sense.
Heh! What's wrong with that? It's lunchtime! Dinner is lunch here. And tea is dinner. And you don't even want to know what we've done with supper and breakfast. :P
Dinner actually kind of is supper if it's at 8pm. Plus we have high tea, brunch, elevenses, and loads of people I know eat breakfast cereal right before bed. We are weird indeed but you love it. :P
Elevenses.. I didn't know that was a real thing. I'm actually watching all of the LotR movies right now, on The Return of the King, and Pippin' said in the first one, "What about elevenses? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper? He knows about them, doesn't he?"
Aragorn must be American. Haha. But yes, weird is always a pleasure. :P
I think the latest I've ever eaten lunch has been around 6 something PM.
Hehe! I don't think there's an hour of the day when I've not eaten what is "technically" lunch. I had it at 4am a few times before Christmas. But it really is only technical for me as I usually only have one meal a day and there's no judging what that meal actually is. I've completely given up on mealtimes.
I find this very offensive. I also know a lot of people who are not white and have dinner at 5:30 and I just thought it was normal. What hour should you eat dinner 10:00? Some people have school and things like jobs. Do you live in a cave you fucktard?
I've eaten dinner at 3 am before and my norm is at about 8:30 or so.
When exactly do you eat dinner that you think 5:30 is weird?
Black and dinner at 6pm or 630pm at the latest. When I was living at my parent's place it was even earlier.
Only old farts and country folk have dinner at 5:30. The rest of us have lives and eat dinner when we have time at like 9 or 10:00.
This has nothing to do with race. When I was young duckling, I used to have to go to Virginia with my grandmother and often times we would stay with her extremely religious sister. I one of the things I hated the most was the fact that they insisted that I ate my dinner at around 4PM O_0 I was used to eating my dinner at the darkest hours of the day and I would protest that I wanted to eat at a later time. But they, refused to have any of that! However, one of my other aunts ate dinner at a time I was used to like around 7-8PM.
As of late, I sometimes will have my dinner around 2AM in the morning.
Most of the families I've worked for have had dinner around 5.30/6pm to accomodate their kids.
I don't get home til 8pm or later, and rarely eat before 9pm. If I remember at all. I forgot last night, it's a regular occurence.
Well, this seems stereotypical. I do not really think it is a white person thing, more like an American tradition. I am Haitian and usually have dinner before 3p.m. and have a snack later. I do not know how to say the last meal in English but we call it "supe" or something like that.
I eat depending on when I'm hungry and what's going on that day. Sometimes I only have one meal, sometimes I'll have 4 small ones throughout the day. My stomach is kinda finnicky.
Dinner is at about 11.00am-1.00pm although I have about 8 meals a day which makes it hard to name them all.
I don't think it's a white thing, I think it's a British thing.
3 meals a day; breakfast, lunch, tea.
Breakfast in the morning
Lunch in the early afternoon
Tea in the late afternoon / evening
Tea time tends to coincide with the time most people are back from work, which is between 5 and 7.
Lots of European countries follow this sort of schedule but there are plenty of others who have their own traditional times for meals, and indeed their own category of meal. As I say, not a 'white' thing. Also, there are lots and lots of people who don't have a set time for meals. I
It might be different for you in your family because you're following a different tradition? You say you're pakistani / indian? Do you mean half and half? Were your parents born in Britain?
I eat dinner whenever I decide to start up the generator at night. Usually that's around 7pm or later. Sometimes, depending on the amount of time cooking, I won't eat until 10 or 11pm.
I've never really understood the whole "lets have dinner at 5:30!" thing.... who is ever done with everything that needs to be done by 5:30pm? The day is still so young... Of course, I don't usually go to bed until the early hours of the morning.
I eat when I'm hungry, which is all the time these days. So I usually eat something small every 2-3 hours and stop grazing around 7 or 8. But I don't like to eat right before I fall asleep. My roommate often makes me dinner to be served at 10pm and I can't do it, I feel so sick trying to sleep with so much food in my belly.
i eat late at night at 2:00am just the usual time and i only eat 1 meal a day.
an i guess it is normal for white people.
My norm is 7:30-ish.
Maybe you just hang around with lots of older folk.
My family never eats dinner as "dinner" we just eat whatever we want anytime we're hungry.
Im not white im offwhite i dont recall ever meeting a white person as most people i know tend not to be albino but when i meet a albino or a "white" person ill ask them
