Is it normal for you to not wanna be a part of your parents' religion?

So, I'm an agnostic athiest (meaning that I'm not really associated with any religion, and I can't really disprove anything). My parents are very strict christians and heart and they desperately want me and my sister to be a part of their religion, as I guess that's pretty "normal", but when I tell them that I don't really want to be associated with their religion, they start freaking out, saying that my life has gone out of control, and that if I don't convert to their religion, I'll burn in hell for all eternity. I just want your opinion on what your view on the situation is. So I'll ask, is it normal for you to not wanna be a part of your parents' religion?

  • I'm an atheist and I was raised and surrounded by Catholics. No matter how much they tried to push me towards being a Catholic, I just couldn't believe in it. It is what it is.

Totally normal. Difficult and painful, but definitely normal.

I was just fed up with all the hate speech supposedly coming from a god of love. if god is real, he needs to either become more like a manand DIE AND STAY DEAD like one, or just fix his evil deeds.

    "I'm an agnostic athiest"

Probably the most reasonable approach there is.

Not that I'm biased or anything.

Definitely normal. My Dad had Catholicism drilled into him (not literally, he wasn't Irish) and he ended up more agnostic towards the end of his life.

You have your own mind and views on things, stand by what you think.
