Is it normal harvey is underestimated?

I do not believe that many people are taking the impact of how serious the Hurricane Harvey disaster is.

This is not simply a local / regional disaster unfolding along the Gulf Coast, in Texas and Louisiana,
THIS IS A CONTINENT-WIDE DISASTER!!!

The major reason is, that 46% of the petroleum refining capacity, is located along the Gulf Coast, in the storm's path.
It is very likely that this will be disrupted, for an extended period of time.

That is nearly half.
Everyone should have already been conserving / consuming half the amount of petroleum products that they normally use, across the entire continent.
If you have never been included in anything, 'everyone' includes you!

'Petroleum products', does not just mean 'gasoline'!
A partial list of petroleum products can be found here:

Is it normal Harvey is being underestimated many people?
