Is it normal i am having trouble trying to go to college/university?

I have a steady job now. However I do not think I will make enough to move into another house/apartment. I want to get a house/apartment I can rent outside campus. I was going to use some of the grant money to pay off the housing situation along with my pay. I was told the money does not come till a month after. So how would I move? Would they let me stay in the apartment if I said I was going to pay them with grant money? The only way I can go to this school is if I move. I also am having issues keeping the place I am staying in now. So I was trying to go to school to get a better job and hopefully be able to pay off my house/apartment rent. So I do not become homeless. I also have not had my job for that long but boss says I am a good worker.

Unsure of what services that is provided in your country so I'll base it on what we get provided here.

Is there some kind of accommodation supplement option from the government or a temporary grant from your university student association you can apply for?

Also being a student, does your bank offer you no internet overdraft facilities to students?

Also are you going to share the rental property with other people?

Could you increase your hours at your job and save up a little more to off set the moving costs?

About the rental arrangements - you could talk to the property manager/owner/landlord and see if you can. Unfortunately what you want is very unusual and can pull them off should you apply for it. So play it by ear.

    • Most of the people I know live with parents can not drive and don't work. The other half of the people I know live with a spouse. I am the only one without a spouse trying to support myself. So I would probobly live by myself unless I could find a roommate. I am not sure about if the government would accommodate this.

Why I posted the question to see if anyone else has been in this situation. It says on what I looked that you could use loans to pay for rent but it says it holds the money for a 30 days. My job says they cant give me more hours since they have nothing more for me to do.

The type of job I have is not that hard to do and I usually finish before my shift is up. If that means my bank lets me pull out more money I don't have credit. I only use money I already have.

Have you spoke to your bank to see what you are eligible for? There could be a student scheme where you have access to student based lending. Many students I deal with have no credit history at all and all I do is a credit check and ensure that they are getting some form of regular income with a copy of their contract to approve them a small overdraft that is interest free for two years.

        • No I have not talked to my bank about this. I never thought my bank would do something like this. I think I will look into that.

No problem. Just remember to shop around for the best rates. Read the fine print. Remember that normally if it is easier to obtain a loan from one place but not another, it normally means the internet rate could be high at the place where you can get the loan.

Have you considered getting a second job if you can?

    • I was lucky to get this one. The only reason I did get it since someone who works there spoke on my behalf. So I really doubt anyone else is going to hire me. Since I have no college, no connections, no marketable traits, even my graduation scores are awful. In this economy I am not something they are looking for. I have a pretty face and a nice appearance. Besides that I am pretty useless.
