Is it normal i am not good at finding directions when i drive?

I am so bad at directions when i drive:) It takes me many times to go to the same place to remember how to get there. My excuse is that i am a girl and just guys are good at reading maps, finding places and so on. Is it normal that I am not that good at this?

    I carried a map of my college campus for my entire first two years there, and most verbal directions confuse me.

    You could always buy a Tom Tom/Navman/GPS etc etc :-)

    I'm female, and I have an amazing sense on direction - better than anyone else I've ever met. I don't think being female has anything to do with it. Usually people who are good at spatial thinking are people who have a good sense of direction. You are not a spatial thinker, which is normal.
