Is it normal i am so reluctant to answer a text?

I have unlimited text and I do text people. I use to text a lot all the time. I was on the phone 24/7 but over the years I stopped getting them from people. Now It seems when anyone texts me I get incredibly annoyed and want to ignore it. I wish that they would just go away. Not that anything they text bothered me but I do not feel like answering. Am I a bad person for this?

    I only have my BlackBerry and I use it for just about everything and I love it but I also live with depression and anxiety and sometimes I just look at who's calling or texting me and I feel like ugh WTF do they want? I don't like being bothered sometimes and I think they know I'm just sitting here not answering them. I guess I have Social Anxiety and it's possible you might a little too I dunno. But I get anxiety thinking I have to tell a person no about whatever bullshit they got going on that I don't want any part of. One thing I never do with any phone is answer cold without looking at the caller ID! I'd rather get texts than have to just pick up the phone blind. In fact I used to have a friend who didn't have caller ID and at one point my parents were going without it to, "save money" and it freaked me out to the point of being a pet peeve. Yuck.

    Mobile bloody phones mean people expect us to be able to be available 24 hours a day.

    Not surprised if you eventually get fed up with this.

    Does not make you a bad person. True friends would understand and accept that.

      How do you do that? I can not since I text people like my boss. Who texts us if we need to come in at a different time.

            call your phone service and tell them to make it unavailable for people to text you.

    I don't like answering texts too. I would like people to call rather than text. Moreover I believe that sms are more for teenagers.

    You're not a bad person! I'm the exact same way. It doesn't matter who texts, it could be certain people & I'll randomly not want to talk to THAT specific person. No reason whatsoever. Bet it happens even when you're in a good mood huh? Then you get that text & you're like... Go away... Immediately lmaoo. It happens to the best of us. Doesn't make you bad, just human. You don't always have to reply to someone. Although it is a bitch whenever you do decide to text them back & they get on you for not replying. Now THAT is the.... Just makes me even more annoyed lol.

      Well I use to have people who had to text me 24/7 even if I went to movies for 2 hours they would be pissed off. So I liked texting back and talking to these people. After awhile people stopped paying attention to me and everyone stopped texting me and I was kind of dissipionted. I have not really been like this in a few years and now when anyone texts I do not give a fuck. I just get annoyed and feel like "Why are you wasting my time"? Unless it is someone like my parents or family I usually ignore it or really want to.

        Same here lol. Although I have my on & off period. Sometimes they piss me off; other times I'm chill to talk. I don't know where it comes from but we aren't bad people because of it. Long as you know your heart & never come with wrong intentions then you all good. Nothing bad whatsoever.
