Is it normal i bite myself when frustrated?

It's a really new habit. I wasn't doing it a month ago. But when ever I get REALLY frustrated I sink my teeth into my arm. When I'm done there's normally a mark and it hurts.

What if it gets worse? What if next month I bite till it bleeds? Is this a serious problem?

I bite my fingers sometimes when I'm frustrated or angry to refrain from saying or doing something that I'll regret. Its perfectly normal to do this. Everyone has their own ways of dealing with things :)

I do it too, I bite my arm hard because the pain overshadows whatever emotional pain I am feeling at the moment. It is like a downscaled version of cutting yourself, or like pinching yourself, banging your head agianst the wall, etc.

I used to do that when I played piano and couldn't get the piece right even after playing for days.
I think it's normal though don't go into extremes.
