Is it normal i can not find classes at night?

Why is it so hard to find school in the night? I mean I thought the thing about collage is that you could choose your hours. Apparently this is not the case. I work in the day and was trying find class to do at night. Yet it is impossible to find class they do at night. Why is this? Even the jobs all want to do everything in middle of the day. Why is night so scary?

most of the teachers if they taught at night would also have to teach during the day when most students prefer to take their classes. it would inconvenience them too much.

Try looking for a different college if you can.

I have never been to a college that doesn't offer night classes, however, it depends on funding, largely.

Uhm, well, to be more thorough...

It's usually community colleges that offer the night classes because they cater better to working adults. You can easily take classes at a community college and transfer to University and it will save you A LOT of money so look up local community colleges in the area for night classes.

Now, when I say funding, I don't necessarily mean expense. In fact, just the opposite. For state funded schools that run both on money from the government AND from private funding (i.e. tuition costs), the better funded that they are, usually, the less expensive that they are relative to Private colleges (like Harvard and Yale), a state school would be like San Diego STATE University, or Asheville-Buncombe COMMUNITY College.

Generally, any college with the words "State" or "Community" in it are going to be publicly funded schools and generally community colleges cater to working adults. However, if a community college doesn't receive much funding, they will have less classes to offer and night classes and summer courses are usually the first to go when funding is cut.

So don't go to a more expensive school just yet, try community colleges and state schools first. Private schools typically cater to a better moneyed crowd and if you grew up in a household that has money and therefore CAN pay to go to this school, it's unlikely you'll have to work through college.

Not every class is going to be taught at every hour. Especially for specialized classes that are only taught by one professor because obviously he's only going to be available at certain times.

Look for a different school. Some schools specialize in continuing education and cater towards working people.
