Is it normal i cried for 4 hours before my pet died and still cry

I've cried in front of my family three times. Two of those times it was dogs. I was a kid the first time and an adult the second. Either time it was the same. It hurt as much.

I am so sorry. I don't have any words to make you better because there aren't any. In retrospect, what gave me solace is that the huge hurt I felt represented the huge love I'd felt over the years. If I'd felt nothing, it meant nothing. But I was so broken, it meant everything.

It's normal if you're 6-years-old, but if you're any older than that, you need to GROW UP!

I had to make another comment today. I just had to put my other cat to sleep today. Come to find out he had a mass on his spleen which ruptured and he was bleeding internally. He also had many other tumors. There was no hope. I've been a basket case all day. He was my cuddle buddy. My confidant. Ran to me when I called him. He was 10 years old. :****(
I am at a loss. My arms ache to hold him and tell him I love him and try to make it all better. But I couldn't.
I feel everyone's pain at the loss of their beloved animals.

I lost my favourite dog 15 years ago and still cry when we talk about him, or even now just thinking about him. I'm so sorry for your loss and it's perfectly normal. As friends, your pets rarely do anything wrong and just love you sooo much. A dog in particular, always wags with happiness when they see you, and this alone can make you happy.

They say time is the great healer but I think that the only way to ease the hurt is to get a new dog, preferably from the pound. I'm just sorry I left it for so many years but I didn't want to face the hurt again and didn't know I could love another one just the same.

That is definitely normal. I had a puppy for only two weeks , and my neighbors dog killed him . I was completely devistated, even though I only had him for a small amount of time, an even now I feel sad when I think of him

I still miss my cat, he didn't miaow, he screamed. I've got a bad leg and he used to lie near it so it didn't hurt as much. He always knew when it hurt. He was my best mate. It wouldn't be normal if you didn't cry over pets.

Of course, why would it not be normal to mourn the loss of a beloved pet? I hate the thought of mine being gone someday. Every day that they're here I enjoy being with them. Sorry for your loss, but your dog is in a better place now.

I know what you mean. Last July I had to put down my 19 year old kitty. She was very sick. I got her from the shelter when she was 6 months old. They were going to put her to sleep because she wasnt kitten enough for most people. I swear she knew it. She was so grateful. Sometimes I think I still see her. I still cry from time to time.

Completely normal, I did exactly the same thing when my dog died. She had been with me since I was 6 years old (i'm 24)and it just didn't seem right not having Annie waiting outside for me every time I went out the back door. She was my companion fishing, and would sit in the tree stand with her head in my lap all day as I hunted, and even keep me entertained with her antics when I had to spend the day chopping wood. They become part of your family and it's hard to say goodbye.

That's completely normal, i lost my cat a few years ago and my whole family cried for weeks and just sat on the sofa in silence. Sometimes pets are part of the family not just an animal so yes it's normal don't worry, you'll feel better soon.
