Is it normal i don't get bored?

Is it normal that I just don't get bored? I occupy my mind by day-dreaming, and only when my mind is unable to day-dream do I ever get bored. The inside of my own mind is too much of an interesting place for me to easily get bored with life.

I also really, really like stability. When I'm a bit older, I'd like to live in one house, in one town or city for my whole life. I have no desire to travel. If there was a single, tasty meal that gave me all the nutrients I needed I'd eat it every day, every meal.

I feel no urge to have variety in my life. If you've seen the film Groundhog Day... I wouldn't see living the same day every day for my whole life as a problem. I'd consider it bliss to live that way. Boredom is that uncommon for me.

I'm asking this question just because I don't know anyone else who feels like I do. Everyone I know - my friends, my girlfriend etc. - get bored very easily and it's frustrating because it feels like I'm not able to settle in one place for even a second. I have to me what feels like perpetually restless to keep up with them, when what I'd really like is for everything to stay the same forever.

Although it makes me sound like an old man, I don't really like change that I have no control over. I'm sometimes accused of being boring, not that that especially bothers me.

TL;DR I really love stabilty and I don't get bored if things are the same every single day.

I don't get bored (I wish there were a thousand hours in the day) but the reason I don't get bored of because of how much there is to do, try, read, watch, listen to, experience. I can cope with lack of variety but then I have to start amusing myself (which I'm well-capable of). I'd rather enjoy the variety and not have to invent it.

    • Or maybe they have just experienced more exciting things, that mostly everything else is boring? Who knows.

Aah yes. I was like this till I got depressed..
The only thing I did on a free day would be read, watch anime and daydream.
I know a lot of days I did absolutely nothing but lying in bed and just dreaming.
Those are the times I really miss. Not a care in the world, every one of my days so peaceful.
I never got bored at all, such a luxury.
Wish I could go back to that.

There is too many things in the world to experience to just sit at home and day dream, there is way too many things that your missing out on!

I haven't even begun to explore everything I want to do with my life, but I am always on the go, and experiencing new things every single day. Its amazing! My next project is to get out of the mid-west, visit other countries, and soak up some much needed culture!

I never get bored, but my reasons are different.
When I was a child, if I ever told my parents that I was bored, they would put me to work! "You're bored? Well here's a sponge, a dust pan and a broom. The kitchen needs to be cleaned and the dishes need to be done.". Now, I rarely if ever say that I am bored. My parents were weird but they taught me that there is always something that needs to be or should be done, hence, no reason to be bored.

And when I was done with cleaning, they'd give me more cleaning. Yes, sometimes the house became immaculate and if I kept complaining that I was bored, they would have me study or if the weather was nice, play outside. After a while, I stopped complaining. I also made pretty good grades and was fairly physically fit.

Stability doesn't bother me either. I was a military kid so when I go through a period of stability, I really appreciate it.

You say you have no interest in travel I recomend you at least go on 1 overseas holiday to see if you like it I think you will. Life is about experience you cant get good life experience if your going to live the way you say you are. What you are saying may not be boring for you but will be for others when you try to meet someone or even engage in conversation

Same here. Never get bored. I do think that it has something to do with having had to move a lot as a kid. I don't want to move around at all.

Interesting. I wouldn't say it's normal but I think this ability of constant stimulation is great. Frankly, monotony can be a little boring, but it's great for stagnation. I remember that a teacher once told that there are only two things that we have control over; the choices we make and how we let them effect us. Anyways, you sound like a very easy person to satisfy.
