Hello. Here's some background information. For as long as I can remember my mom has used over the top stalking methods and recently started using a service called TeenSafe even though I'm already 18. If anyone can give me advice on how to get her to not be so over protective I would really appreciate it.
I can understand your frustration but believe me your lucky she cares, my mother didnt care where I was or what I was doing which has caused many problems in my life, such as drug problems and abusive realationships and a constant feeling of being alone and like im not worth caring about, ive grown up and now suffer with mental health problems, my mum dosent want any contact with me so I advise that you love your mum because you only get one and trust me you wouldn't want her not to care
Normal although you are 18 and considered an adult. It's obvious she loves you but might be a bit overprotective.
My mom did the same but unlike most parents she just wanted me to get in trouble xD
I can understand it would be annoying, but try to be loving about it and put yourself in her shoes. I would talk with her (not argue) and just express how this upsets you and there is a fine line between caring and control.
Be lucky she cares, but if it is getting too overboard, then talk to her. Tell her that you think she is a little too overprotective for your age.
Parents always are like that. I'd be glad that they care about you but going overboard is common. Unless you move far away they will probably be like that until your 21. An app to make sure you're safe shouldn't be a big deal, its not like you're going places you shouldn't. Parents rarely use them unless you're missing for a long time anyway
Just tell her my mom did the same thing :) she's probably worried about you! If she gets mad walk off! She has no write to do that!
