Is it normal i don't like the way new posts are dumped all at once?

I've noticed recently there's been a change in the frequency with which new posts are moderated and turn up on the homepage.

Before it seemed like you would have a mix of new and less new, the new posts trickling in a few at a time - easy to keep up with. NOW it seems you don't get anything new for a few days, and then suddenly you get a huge dump of new posts that fill the homepage.

Has anyone else noticed this and what do you think about it? Is it because all the moderators are on holiday?

    I remember the days when the posts were moderated at a better frequency.. Those were the days.
    Now the same posts are up for days and you have to wait days for the new posts to show up. It's annoying.

      I agree. It used to be that there were new stories to read and comment on every single day, but now it's more like every four days. I miss the old IIN

    I've said this many times: the moderation scheme on this site makes no sense.

    Every single other site out there lets the user just post freely, and then abusive posts are taken down after the fact.

    This one is bass ackwards where posts must be approved first and then aren't posted until 24 hours later. And to top it off, a lot of the crappy troll posts STILL slip past the mods.

          It's what I've been doing. I've been quite busy lately; however, I cannot deny that part of the reason I'm not around as much anymore is due to a lack of interest. The lack of adequate moderation is destroying this place, which is too bad.

            I stay pretty busy myself. I try to still frequent this place as often as I can. However, the community spirit isn't what it used to be. That's for sure and I've seen several users say pretty much the same.

            The lack of active management and moderation is definitely a part of that I think. I also think there's misunderstanding for why things changed the way they did. I don't know why myself, but from previous experience, i'm giving UDI the BOTD. Whatever the reason, i'm sure it's legitimate.

            I still believe in this place though. I'll always know it for what it was and what it still can be.

      Are you sure they even exist? I think this might just have been a fairy tale they have tricked us into believing. Maybe this site is just a ghost and no one is really running it at all and its just a automated computer setting up new members coming in.

    This is starting to really bother me too. It makes it so certain posts get buried and only the ones that were asked right before the mods put them up get any attention. I think the reason is the mods do not give a fuck lately.
