Is it normal i don't (usually) find stand-up comedy funny

I find it contrived and over-rehearsed, just hearing a person rattle off a series of pre-written gags and planned punchlines.

Stand-up has little impact on me, although sometimes I appreciate it as social commentary (George Carlin's shows were good for this).

To me, humour is only funny when it's quick and spontaneous, fast and clever responses and/or contextual in-jokes. Some stand-up comedians can do this on the spot with their audience, but I don't see many tbh.

    I know right?

They'd be a lot funnier if they laid down more often.

Stand up is a pretty great art form, maybe you're just not watching the right people? Louis C.K. Is a favorite of mine. If you think it's too rehearsed, check out Reggie Watts, his shows are primarily improv. Bo Burnham is very rehearsed but rather funny. Hannibal Buress is killing it lately. They're a lot of great comedians. I could continue listing people.

      That's a good list.
I'd also suggest Bill Burr. He's really good at making the whole set seem like one big crazy trail of thought. Very natural.

I don't like stand up comedy and the most of the comedians! Their jokes are just insulting to other people and can offend most of the time and I really don't like it especially that I'm a sensitive person who doesn't like jokes! One of the comedians I really hate or dislike in my country is Vice Ganda. I hate the trends he started like the pakpak ganern (I hate those words) and the song about 2 girls! Tsk! People in my country are just going to follow him and it's not a good influence in my opinion! I don't like Jo Koy, Wally Bayola, etc. as well! I wish they would vanish someday... :/

I'm more a fan of musical comedy or story teller comedians than straight stand up, but there are also a bunch of stand ups I find very clever and talented.

What anyone finds funny is down to them as individuals. There's nothing wrong with not enjoying stand up.

Try Jimmy Carr he does alot of interactions with the audience.

Yeah and also makes jokes about child sexual abuse. I can't stand even looking at his smug chipmunk pedophile approving face: he's just disgusting and his interactions with little girls are of more concern to me than how he responds to his audiences

Dark humor isn't for everyone and I'm not a huge Carr fan myslef. Yet I feel like I have to defend him here. I think joking about horrible realities is not only okay but it can be very healthy. Louis CK described it as "taking you to a scary place in your mind and making you laugh there". There are things so dark nobody likes to talk or even think about them but a comedian can go there and break the fear through humor.
When I was very depressed, confused and scared of my own thoughts I was very grateful for comedians who talked about those things and made me laugh. It can be very cathartic and takes away the power those scary things had over you.

Noted. You do realize if course that wasn't the point of my reply the OP wanted someone that didn't just tell canned jokes. He does a little but he also does spontaneous jokes. The OP also mentioned Carlin who did a bit on rape being funny so I thought Carrs material might be a good fit. But heres a idea... if you don't like him don't watch him. Ppl have different tastes and the OP may enjoy him.

They're called jokes for a reason. I'm not defending him, as I think his routine is mediocre at best. But jokes don't hurt people.

Everything hurts her. She is OFFENDED.

Because she does not or cannot understand that humour is personal and different.
