Is it normal i expected sf to sweep detroit in the series?

Hi peeps, I'm a lifelong fan of the Giants, and after seeing them wait 56 years to win (1954-2010) I was not surprised they not only won but swept Detroit. It was the combination of the excellent teamwork from SF plus their hitting, fielding and pitching (primarily that). I never doubted they would plow thru Detroit, although I had trepidations with having to beat St Louis after falling behind, and to a minor extent concerning Cincinnati.

Is this normal to feel this way (and might I add when the Giants sucked in the mid-80's I stopped watching them for a time, so I am not what is referred to as a true believer against the odds)?

  • Yankees are a joke - going downhill ever since the A-Rod ball dislodging incident against Boston's first baseman under Steinbrenner. They are just now learning that money can't buy championships -the have to (gasp!) actually play like a team, and with their big egos that ain't gonna be easy. At least when Sandoval picks up chicks it's on a beach in Santa Cruz rather than like A-Rod during a game.

Considering Detroit had to cork their bats to even get to play against St. Louis in the 2006 world series, Im surprised as hell Detroit even made it. Detroit is a JOKE, and Im not surprised that the Giants did to detroit what the cards did on '06

(granted, the cards didnt get them in 4 games, like the Giants did, but still)

(also, WHAT THE HELL, YANKEES?) no offence to their fans, just wondering how detroit won so easily in the American league championships)

I have to say, the Giants did pretty well in the National League (Coming from a Cardnals Fan) Both teams really put up a fight, (until the last game, the cards really dropped the ball :( )

I was too busy to watch the world series (and partially disappointed the Giants beat the Cards to it). didnt sound that exciting considering the Giants sweep.

Congrats San Francisco, you Deserved it.

    • And I have to say: St. Louis could have done the same to Detroit (win the WS that is); Detroit was way-over touted. Next year should be interesting and I am very excited ST. Lou and SF are playing on SF's opening Home Series. National Leaguer all my life, I don't really care who beats the Yankees (when they get their WS shot) as long as they're beaten!!
