Is it normal i find dishwashers redundant ?

So If any of you have had to use a dishwasher before you know what I am talking about. It is suppose to wash your dishes when you put them in but you have to wash the dishes before you put them in?I mean what is the point of a dishwasher if you have to clean the dishes anyways?I mean isn’t this a really pointless device they created?

No, I do not think my girl is redundant at all. I don't wash or rinse the dishes before I give them to her anyway.

And she is not a pointless device at all.

Seriously? You are supposed to clean them?

I always only ever held stuff over the garbage can so loose stuff would fall there, then put it in even without rinsing.
Except for certain stuff sometimes, it always comes out fine!

I guess you may have a seriously outdated model? Or you are doing more than you need? Have you ever tried not cleaning beforehand and see what comes out?

you should replace it then...i think the main issue is that, sorry for the wording, your dish washer sucks. :)

I wish I had a dishwasher. I'm lazy, I HATE doing dishes and I have hardly any time anyway.

Dishwashers are fucking useless. You do more work putting all the crap in when it's easier to simply hand wash it and have clean dishes in 20 minuets as opposed to waiting forever for a stupid machine to finish washing your plates. I hate dishwashers...waste of time and energy and money.

  • Just get a new and better dishwasher if you dont like how the one you have performs.

    Don't use the dishwasher, then.

Seriously though, you just have to scrape of the cheese or whatever from the dishes and throw away the solid food. It's nowhere near as labour intensive as washing and drying your own dishes.

You clean the food off. The dishwasher kills the germs.

I have a dishwasher but don't use it. It takes too long, uses too much energy, makes the kitchen incredibly hot and steamy..I'd rather just wash the dishes by hand.

If you rinse your dishes before you put em in the washer you don't have to clean them by hand. Unless your dishwasher was made in 1842 then it's redundant.

As long as you have a dishwasher with built in garbage disposal in the bottom then you don't have to wash them first, my dishwasher is very redundant, I just use it for cups and silverware mostly.

I have a friend who swears by her portable dishwasher. She just plugs it up to the sink and she says she doesn't have to prewash a single dish.

Mine broke a year ago (probably just got a full food trap) and I still haven't bothered fixing it. I guess if I really needed it, I'd have done something about it.

You don't wash your dishes before you out them in, only rinse them.

It's supposed to aid in granting the owner sanitized dishes.

Are you implying that I can't fucking read? I know what the hell a dishwasher is and no it doesn't "wash nothing" it washes the damn dishes and provides greater sanitizing than simply washing and drying in the sink. If you don't like that you can't dump an entire plate of chicken into that shit then I don't know what to tell you.

        • No I am not saying you can not read I am saying the intent of the product is in the name yet it fails to do so.I was envisising the fact it says it will WASH my dishes yet my dishes never come out as clean as I wish them too.No I am not calling you stupid do not take it that way.I’m saying the fact so many people still have to wash a dish before they put it in the washer is pretty pointless as it does not serve its attended purpose. No I am not calling you stupid.

Your dish washer sounds like it sucks. And no dish washe is intended to be a dish scrubber, that's why it's called a dish WASHER. It is intended to sanitize!

That always bothered me when I had a campus owned apartment. The dishwasher was so shitty it really was pointless to use, I'd have to rewash half the shit after we took it out. Didn't help that my roomies liked to cook big meals and they were so sloppy with it.

    • I know honestly. What is the point of using a washer if you still have to wash dishes?Than Billy may made a thing that you put in your dishwasher so you do not have to pre wash them but than doesn’t that defeat the point of having the useless device to begin with?I think the Inventors failed on this one.

It kind of is I guess...I don't really clean them when I put them in though. I just rinse off everything and get all the visible particles off then throw them in. I just like it because I hate drying dishes and lining them up on the counter...ugh.
