I was born and raised in the North. You know fancy buildings, cars, indoor plumbing. I moved down South in 2008 and I still hate. I hate they walk they talk, I hate how ignorant they are. I hate how racist and homophobic folks are down here. Don't get me start on the religious crazies. Will I ever get used to it here?

You need to add a question mark and not capitalize the S in south. Also, the word 'that' between normal and the wouldn't hurt.

No need to capitalize north. Fancy buildings? Have you seen Detroit lately? Cars? Lots of cars in the south. Indoor plumbing? That is a tired old joke. You are like an 80's hack comic.

It's not perfect here. You lumping everyone together is even more ignorant. I'm not racist, homophobic or a religious nut. I have a nice car and a nice house with 5 indoor toilets. Plenty of racism, homophobia and religious nuts in the north... and east... and west... and all over the world as a matter of fact. So look in the mirror for your ignorance next time.
Oh come on... don't be a smartass... she/he is speaking in generalities... I understand where your coming from, but thats a bit much hoss... not everyone here is a homophobe or rascist, but there are more here than in the places in the north which she is referring to, and the people here are far more open about it, and more condeming than those in the places in the north which she is referring to. Plus not everyone can just choose to pack up and move back... don't be so condescending... I get you man, but cool it
As the man said; you've been there 6 years, you hate it, but are still there? I don't think it's those around you who are especially stupid. At least they are somewhere they like and appreciate.
As for NY over ANYWHERE in the south, at least there is some civility between folks in the south (except the northerners who have moved there); they will help each other without being asked, they will let you into their lane when you turn on your turn indicator and they are generally kind and caring folks, unlike any New Yorker I have ever met.
Y'all toddle back on up North now, and while you're at it, how about you go back to school and learn a bit o readin n writin?

Whoa! I was born in the South. I hate close-minded Christians. Not only am I progay, but I'm bisexual. I'm not racist. Are you applying that everyone should be judged by sterotypes. Because if that's the case you're no better than the racists, homophonics, or close-minded Christians.
we let two white guys off the hook for killing unarmed black teenagers but we sent a black woman to prison for firing a gun into the air to scare off her boyfriend who had a history of abusive behavior... welcome to the south, mate
You'll encounter far less hostility in the South, if you learn to talk with an Atlanta accent and cadence. I agree that the "cognitive biases" people accept down there get very tiring.
