In case someone robs you. Good Idea so you can smash open the head when they come in.
Mine is in the corner of the room. Under the bed has too many hairballs. Although if the intruder is allergic to cats, that would be twice as effective.
I don't keep a BAT but I always have some sort of (usually blunt) weapon near/under my bed.
Nothing beats a 12 gauge up close. Even the lightest grandma-wants-to-shoot-skeet loads will cause devastating damage in close quarters. Not to mention the deterrent factor of a pump action being racked.
I keep a hunting knife my dad gave me just under my mattress and my gun safe in my cupboard covered with my work dresses...girl has to stay safe :)
I voted normal cause I thought it might be a trick question ("HA IT'S FOR SPORTS.") but nope.
... I keep a big novelty pencil with a heavy topper close by. Does that count?
I have guns under my bed and couch, and a couple other places I'll not reveal. I do have a baseball bat in my bedroom too but I forget it's there until I'm cleaning and I come across it.
.357 Rossi.
But a baseball bat is good to keep in case Randy Johnson ever wants to stop by and throw a few...
Golf club. Think about it; how far does a baseball bat hit a baseball and how far does a golf club hit a golf ball? Most of the weight of a golf club is at the end you are swinging. Force = mass x acceleration = cracked skull = subdural haematoma = one sorry burglar who, one way or the other, won't be doing it again.
Golf clubs bend and break very easily though. Better hope you ping him good the first time!
I'm not the OP, but I prefer a bat too. There is more surface area for contact (a golf club has only a little fist at the end of a stick) and my strength is enough to create lethal force with a bat. But if I had time to aim at my attacker and I wanted to slaughter them, a golf club would be superior.
Eh baseball bats are cheaper you can get a louisville slugger for 14 bucks. But I do see your point there.
