Is it normal i like playing sports even though i'm bad at it?

I love playing sports: baseball, basketball, volleyball, field hockey, badminton, and soccer. But I'm never skilled enough to make it on every school team or, when I do make it on the team, the coach rarely lets me play during a game. During a weekend tournament, I asked my basketball coach why he wasn't allowing me to play (my dad was there and I wanted to impress him). My coach said, "Well, I didn't play you because I wanted us to win." I felt like a loser, but I thought he knew what was best for the team and my skills must have needed some improvement. Despite the bad feelings, I still love playing and go to every practice and join all non-school teams I can.

Honestly, it's perfectly normal. Lots of people love sports, but not everyone is an 'athlete', so to speak. You might excel in things besides sports, or even other sports. For example, I'm horrible at basketball. But, when it comes to softball, I'm like a machine. So, different things are for different people. No worries. :)

I hate playing sports I'm bad at. I'm not a very good loser. But if everyone is bad, than it can be a lot of fun.

"I'm bad, and thats good. I will never be good, and thats not bad. There is no one I'd rather be, than me."

Nah, don't follow that quote (kudos to those who got it), I'd say its normal since its possible to like the sport even while not being a pro at it. Its easy to not like what you're bad at so you're one step ahead of that at least. I do wish you the best of luck getting good though, liking sports despite skills is good but that gets old eventually and nothing beats being good at what you do.

Just practice practice practice (even more so on your own, not just at team practices), that is what separates the great from the good. How good you are is directly proportional to how much time you put into training and practicing.
I was pretty good at every sport i've played, but I was only great at baseball, because my dad had me practicing every single day on our own (even on vacations) hitting slow pitched balls, hitting tiny wiffle balls with a broom stick, at the batting cages hitting fast balls, and I finished my final season with a .920 batting average, and I owe it all to my dad for making me practice even if I didn't want to.
